Special Guest Just Announced!

ROBERT HASS, well-known poet and translator, was Poet Laureate of the United States from 1995-1997. He has been a MacArthur fellow and is currently a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets. Sun Under Wood: New Poems is his most recent book. He teaches at UC Berkeley.

ETEL ADNAN is a Lebanese American poet/ writer and painter who studied philosophy at UC Berkeley and Harvard and has spent the greatest part of her life in the Bay Area. She will read from her latest book, In the Heart of the Heart of Another Country, published by City Lights, San Francisco (and Suhrkamp, Frankfurt).

AARON SHURIN is a poet, essayist, and teacher whose books include INVOLUNTARY LYRICS, just out from Omnidawn Publishing. He co-directs the MFA in Writing Program at the University of San Francisco.

DAVID LARSEN teaches at UC Berkeley and co-curates the New Yipes experimental film and poetry series at 21 Grand in Oakland. His long record of self-publishing was broken in 2005 with a poetry collection issued by Faux Press (Cambridge, MA).

GERALDINE KIM was born in 1983 in West Boylston, Massachusetts. A graduate of New York University, she is currently pursuing an MFA in Fiction and Poetry at San Francisco State University. Her first book, Povel, was the winner of Fence Books' 2005 Modern Poets Series.

STEVE ORTH is Shivshark and Shivshark is Steve Orth. They both write story telling songs with no choruses or guitar solos and sing them to people, young and old.
